In games, in tests, in contests, and in love, people may admit it or not but almost everybody hate cheaters. They hurt, they lie, they bully, and they romance people into believing that what they say is real. Whether in school, at work, or in romance, they plague the waters and make it unsafe to venture in. But fear not, these verminsare humans too, and with the right intuition and the right cunning, it’s easy to catch a cheater with just three easy steps.
First thing, to catch a cheater, one must be observant. Observe and reflect the actions of a person. What does he/she usually do? What are his or her habits, hobbies, actions? Once routine has been established, it’s easy to see when a person falters. When the person changes something somewhere in his or her routine without no obvious reasons, then there might be cheating involved. Changes might be as subtle as being sweeter or more attentive that they usually are or in can be as big as changing phone numbers, colognes, make-ups, or things like that. Also, watch out for unreported time, those are the times in someone’s life that no one knows where they or what they are doing. They can either be cheating or doing something worse.
When doubt has been placed in one’s mind, the next step is not to confront, but to investigate. Intuition and mere observations are not enough. It’s important to have evidence. A photo, a text message, a phone call, an e-mail and so much more can be used as evidence. And as in criminal cases, evidences must be valid and they must not be circumstantial. Lipsticks on shirts are not enough anymore. And remember, innocent until otherwise proven. Don’t fly off the handle and accuse, instead of looking like the guilty party. One may seem too paranoid or too clingy and that’s just not cool.
If evidence has been found, don’t confront them, trap them. Lies are like web, if they get tangled up enough, it becomes a trap that can be used against the enemy. Have someone with you as an accomplice or witness. Teach them never to cheat again, or else, he or she will just run off to find another gullible victim. And if victimized by these pets, one must have the confidence to trust another person again. It’s also pertinent to think that the other person is beyond one’s control, so he or she that has been victimized, must not blame himself/herself. The other person’s action is merely their own, and one must not blame his/her partner for his/her cheating. Everyone has a choice; therefore it’s that person’s decision to cheat. Blaming it on others makes the person a hundred times worse than what he has done. And if caught cheating, don’t make the mistake of thinking that he/she will change anytime soon.
However, if there is no evidence, then relax. Trust is one of the major issues in a relationship. Apologize for doubting him/her. Devote time to each other and give a little trust. Be honest, open and sincere. Remember that people don’t usually doubt other people without reason, so one must have done something to cause others to doubt him. Believe in the power of love and respect. Finally, be secure and think positive, thinking that a relationship will last wins half the battle already.
